Experience
I grew up and attended school and college in Germany. I received my degree in Chemistry in 1996. I decided that I wanted to further my learning in the United States. I enrolled in the PhD program at the University of Utah and graduated in 2001.I've held many research positions throughout the United States since graduating. In 2008, I accepted a job with Merck. This allowed me to focus on the early development phase of drug candidates. This was an exciting position that allowed me to grow and learn. I've always loved the study of science, and I especially love the field of chemistry. I was so happy to find a job that allowed me to focus solely on this interest.I also love teaching. I love to work with each student and to express my passion in science. I have experience working as a teacher assistant during my schooling. This helped to spark my interest of teaching. I also served as a mentor to the junior staff when working for Merck. As a tutor, I hope to work one-on-one with my students and help them develop a stronger interest in science. I like to make my learning sessions fun, and try my best to always include real-world examples.
