EducationRutgers University-New Brunswick - BA, History, Psychology
ExperienceI majored in both History and Psychology at Rutgers University, where I received a bachelor's degree. During my studies, I focused on the media, gender, and analyzing history. I joined Phi Alpha Theta, which is an honor society for History. In the discipline of Psychology, I swayed towards neuropsychology. Obviously, my passion lies in the degree paths I took. But, I feel suited to teach other subjects, such as Art History and Biology. Whenever I was at Rutgers, I acted as a tutor to ROTC cadets. I worked with students individually and as a part of groups, helping them with their English skills.I feel that education is empowerment. When you are educated, the doors of opportunity swing open and you are introduced to higher levels of socialization. To learn is to understand, and when you understand things about life and the world, you can live more fulfilled. So, my approach involves ensuring full comprehension by being as clear as necessary and encouraging honesty in the learning environment. I strive to be a positive source of support to my students, no matter what challenges they are facing.Whenever I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, creative writing, and playing my guitar.
HobbiesFor fun, I like to read, write poetry, hike, play guitar and garden.
